MEET HALLE

- BRINGING LEADERSHIP HOME -

Halle is a local of Pierce County. She grew up and graduated from Ellsworth Senior High with honors. Halle went on to UW-River Falls, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's of Arts in English-Professional Writing and a minor in Political Science. While at UWRF, she played collegiate and intramural softball.

After college, Halle attended Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude. At Mitchell, she won the "Burton Award," which signifies "excellence in legal writing" out of a class of 325 students. Halle also won a CALI award for the best performance in her Advocacy class. This class included an appellate brief, oral arguments, and courtroom performance. Halle was also on the Mock Trial team and conducted mock trials in Denver, Colorado, and Lincoln, Nebraska, in national competitions.

She has the experience. While interning at the St. Croix County District Attorney's office as a Certified Student Attorney, Halle conducted court hearings on her own under the supervision of the district attorneys. She argued in motion hearings, conducted initial appearances, and conducted court and jury trials. As a law student, Halle tried and won a misdemeanor jury trial on her own.

Since passing the bar, Halle has been practicing criminal, family, and civil law. She has argued to the court in temporary order hearings, conducted plea hearings, researched complex legal issues, and negotiated settlements through a collaborative and creative approach. Halle is also a member of the Pierce County Criminal Justice Collaborative Council. One of the recent projects of this committee focuses on streamlining the criminal justice system by creating a county-wide process to effectively and efficiently navigate defendants through the system.

Recently married to her high school sweetheart, Halle and her husband, Jake, moved closer to home and bought a house in River Falls, Wisconsin. Halle's husband also grew up and graduated in Ellsworth and from UWRF, where he played football. They have a 4 month old black lab puppy who keeps them busy and on their toes. In their free time, they enjoy kayaking, playing sand volleyball, putting the finishing touches on their new home, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Halle is excited for the opportunity to bring her natural leadership skills back home and protect the community with fair but firm prosecutions.
